I found it interesting that not all nurses experience some kind of grief during their nursing career. Not every department a nurse works on experience loss on a consistent basis. Department’s where patients are ventilated and unconscious, the nurse may not experience loss. Once the patient is awake, they move to a different location. Or because the patient is unconscious the emotional bond is not felt. No loss is felt because the connection was never there.
