The Week 3 assignment looked at an existing problem or issue related to quality and patient safety and strategies to improve the outcome related to that issue. This week’s assignment will focus on assessing a potential risk to the organization and developing a strategy to reduce this risk.

Those who are affected by the risk include staff, patients, and the organization as a whole. Not only do organizations need to protect patients and staff, they also need to strive for excellence so that risks are reduced. When conducting the risk assessment, it is important to understand the population that the organization is serving. Not all states, cities, or even neighborhoods are alike

Risk Evaluation and Patient Safety: Falls Falls are a major cause of morbidity and mortality globally. These are accidental events that occur when individuals lose their center of gravity with limited or ineffective efforts to restore balance (Sharif et al., 2018). Falls may occur among hospitalized or non-hospitalized patients. Nonetheless, falls among hospitalized patients lead to devastating complications and injuries. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) (2019) projects about 700,000 to 1 million annual falls among hospitalized patients. Most of these cases occur among older adults and patients under long-term care. The consequences of falls are devastating, considering morbidity and mortality. More than one-third of falls (among older adults and patients with long-term illnesses) cause fractures, head trauma, or death while receiving fall-related care (AHRQ, 2019). These can be classified as injurious falls….Kindly click the purchase icon to purchase the full solution at $10
