As planning in public health has evolved, what trends in public health do you foresee and how will these trends impact program planning efforts?
From perspectives by Issel (2014), the planning of public health has been evidenced to undergo a number of evolutionary stages, with science creating a basis for the indicated changes. In the current context, government agencies oversee public health planning by providing both leadership and a regulatory framework for management of public health concerns. This can for instance be illustrated through the public health control measures implemented at the dawn of the Covid-19 pandemic. Various governments based on a public health act within which they designed guidelines for prevention, suppression and clinical management of Covid. Among the measures put forward comprised social distancing, sanitizing and lockdowns. In response to these measures, several practices emerged, with some presenting a glimpse into the trends in public health that would then come into place.
