The best outside scholarly source to use is a peer-reviewed nursing journal.  You are encouraged to use the Chamberlain library and search one of the available data bases for a peer-reviewed journal article.  The following sources should not be used: Wikipedia, Wikis, or blogs.  These web  sites are not considered scholarly as anyone can add to these. Points will be deducted from the rubric if the site does not demonstrate scholarship or quality. Current outside scholarly sources must be published with the last 5 years.  Instructor permission must be obtained BEFORE the assignment is due if using a source that is older than 5 years.

Today, technology plays an important role in the nursing profession. The American Nurses Association (ANA) has presented Nursing Informatics as a specialty that integrates nursing, computer, and information science to provide data communication management, knowledge, and improvement of quality nursing care outcomes. A primary way that informatics is used through nursing practice is computerized documentation systems. Applications used in everyday nursing practice such as electronic health records, electronic medication administration, and order-entry enable fast access to reliable patient information that are essential for clinical decision-making during care. These evidence-informed resources allow us to record patient out come data such as adverse events and a patients’ length of stay which are both important for statistics for evaluating the impact of care (Kleib, 2016)….Kindly click the purchase icon to purchase the full solution at $5
